How it works for you:

You register, for free, on our site. Submit your details, and let us know what parts of the country you are interested in receiving customers enquiries from.
Customers will come to our website and complete an enquiry form. All relevant information to allow you to price the job will be sent to you in an email.
If the job interests you, then you log-on to the site, submit your price, and the date that you can do the job.
Various options will be presented to the customer, who can choose the fastest/cheapest/most convenient operator.
If your quote wins, then after the customer has paid for the delivery, the job is confirmed and all contact details are forwarded onto you.
Upon successful confirmation that the job is complete, payment will be made direct into your bank account, and you will receive an electronic invoice for your records.

Simple as that. Quote for the jobs you want, ignore the ones you don't (or change your profile so that you don't receive enquiries which do not suit you). Receive all of the information. Do the job. Get Paid.

What we ask from you:

That you are prompt and reliable, turn up on the day to do the job as agreed.
That items are properly secured in your van, and that you carry strapping, and blankets so that items such as furniture etc can be safely loaded.
That you are polite, friendly and helpful.

What we will provide to you:

Customer enquiries for deliveries in all areas that you select, and the option for you to quote on as many of these as you choose.
Sufficient information to price quotes, including addresses, details of the items etc.
Full contact details for all jobs you have committed to do.
Prompt payment, direct into your bank account (or via paypal), and all records needed to keep your paperwork sorted.

Boxby is different from all the other websites out there because:

There is no subscription*
There is no obligation on your part to quote for any jobs, except those that suit you.
Our jobs are not same day, or next day, allowing you to look ahead and incorporate into your pre-booked journeys.
We don't work with "exclusive" operators, which means that you can quote for any job, in any area, if you want.
We work on an item basis, not a full van load, or a part load, which is much more accessible to customers making enquiries.
You don't have to do any invoicing, and all customer payments will be prepaid and collected by us. You will be paid by direct transfer into your bank next day (keeping your bank charges low too.)

*subscription free for the first year, a subscription may later be charged, but it will be affordable, and justifiable based on the volume of enquiries going through the site.

Why it will work:

As couriers and delivery companies - you have nothing to lose by subscribing. Customers have nothing to lose by submitting an enquiry. But putting the two together, it's a win-win situation.
Our experience has proven that customers are more concerned about price than speed. Particularly those buying and selling items off ebay.
This means that couriers and delivery companies can price quotes to fit in with other jobs and work that you already have pre-booked. And allows you to price a little more competitively.
The web site works on the basis of "items". There are hundreds of customers, people rather than companies, looking to get an "item" moved, not a van load, and not a part van load. Boxby addresses the need of the individual customer, and the demand for this type of delivery service is high.
There are hundreds of "white van man" companies in the UK. There are also a very large number of small removal companies, furniture companies etc, all of whom do not have the nationwide presence to advertise or target work outside of their local geographic area.
Boxby lets Couriers & Delivery Companies pick up on routes that they don't normally work, as well as their local ones.
