Boxby is the website that helps customers find UK Courier Companies, and Couriers find extra Courier and delivery work .

How it works for your Courier Company:

  1. You register your courier company,, on our site. Submit your details, and let us know what parts of the country you are interested in receiving customers enquiries for couriers and deliveries from.

  2. Customers will come to our website and complete a courier job enquiry form. A notification that a new courier job has been added to the website in your operating regions will be sent to you by email, with a link to click on to see all relevant information to allow you to price the job.

  3. If the job interests you, then you log-on to the site, submit your price, there is also an additional information box for you, where you can provide any other information specific to your delivery quote.  Including for example dates that collection/delivery is contingent upon, when the customer must get back to you by, even your business mobile telephone number.  Unlike other courier websites, here at Boxby we are not trying to stop you contacting the customer direct.  The point of boxby is to help customers get the best possible deals for their courier items and deliveries, and to help courier and delivery companies get the most work possible.  We put no barriers between the couriers and the customers.

  4. All couier quotes will be shown online to the customer when they log into their boxby account.  The customer then selects the quote that they wish to accept.  Here at Boxby we do not allocate jobs to couriers, or direct customers towards specific couriers.  There are no premium listings, every courier company's quotes are sent to the customer.

  5. If your quote wins, then you will be sent a notificiation by email.  In your boxby account will see all information submitted concerning this job, including the customers names, addresses, telephone numbers, all information that the customer submitted for the courier quote, showing sizes, dimensions, weights etc.  We do this because we have a lot of experience of the courier industry.

  6. The job details in your boxby account will also show who is paying, whether it be the person at the point of collection, or the person who is accepting the delivery.  It is each couriers responsibility to make arrangements for collection of all monies due.  We inform the customer that they are due to pay at either collection or delivery.

Simple as that. Quote for the jobs you want, ignore the ones you don't (or change your profile so that you don't receive enquiries which do not suit you). Receive all of the information. Do the job. Get Paid.

What we ask from you:

  1. That you quote sensibly.  It helps no-one when courier quotes are submitted that are in excess of the value of the item.  We have recently included an additional field that shows the value of the item being delivered.  This is so that couriers can see that the item in question may only be worth £40 or £50, and that a delivery quote of £400 is probably not what the customer is looking for.

  2. That you are prompt and reliable, turn up on the day to do the job as agreed.  That items are properly secured in your van, and that you carry strapping, and blankets so that items such as furniture etc can be safely loaded.  That you are a proper registered courier business, new or established, with valid Goods in Transit insurance.  Sorry, but we are not interested in people doing a bit of delivery work on the side, and we don't want anyone doing deliveries out of the back of their cars.

  3. That you maintain prompt communication with the customers.  We provide you with all information possible, we request a mobile and a landline telephone number for both the pickup and delivery addresses.  So please, use this information and keep your customers informed.

What we will provide to you:

  1. Customer enquiries for deliveries in all areas that you select, and the option for you to quote on as many of these as you choose.

  2. Sufficient information to price quotes, including addresses, details of the items etc.

  3. Full contact details for all jobs you have committed to do.

  4. All information that you need to get payment for courier jobs arranged through boxby, and all to keep your paperwork sorted.

 

Boxby is different from all the other Multi-quote Courier websites out there because:

  1. We make no deductions or charges for jobs that you get off boxby.

  2. There is no obligation on your part to quote for any courier jobs, except those that suit you.

  3. Our jobs are not same day, or next day, allowing you to look ahead and incorporate into your pre-booked journeys.

  4. We don't work with "exclusive" operators, which means that you can quote for any job, in any area, if you want.

  5. We work on an item basis, not a full van load, or a part load, which is much more accessible to customers making enquiries.

  6. All of the jobs listed on Boxby are real jobs, for real customers.  We do not recycle listings to artifically inflate the number of jobs on the website, and jobs are automatically removed once they expire. 

Why it works:

  1. Our experience has proven that customers are more concerned about price than speed. Particularly those buying and selling items off ebay.

  2. This means that couriers and delivery companies can price quotes to fit in with other jobs and work that you already have pre-booked. And allows you to price a little more competitively.

  3. The web site works on the basis of "items". There are hundreds of customers, people rather than companies, looking to get an "item" moved, not a van load, and not a part van load. Boxby addresses the need of the individual customer, and the demand for this type of delivery service is high.

  4. There are hundreds of "white van man" courier and delivery companies in the UK. There are also a very large number of small removal companies, furniture companies etc, all of whom do not have the nationwide presence to advertise or target work outside of their local geographic area.

  5. Boxby lets Couriers & Delivery Companies pick up on routes that they don't normally work, as well as their local ones.
